Role Overview
The Account Director will lead client relationships, ensuring the delivery of high-quality marketing solutions that align with client objectives. This role requires strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of marketing trends — especially related to paid media.
This is a hands-on role responsible for client management and project management within the agency (task management within ClickUp, coordinating with team members, keeping deliverables organized). The ideal candidate is AI-forward and comfortable working within AI-powered tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams
- Develop and implement strategic marketing plans tailored to client needs
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure client satisfaction
- Responsible for budget and P&L management across all projects and clients to deliver against assigned agency targets
- Identify opportunities for account growth and new business development across assigned book of business
- Ensure client deliverables have measurable goals and business priorities in place and gain client agreement
- Manage client communication on a day-to-day basis — prepare agendas, ensure clear understanding of performance data, insights, and opportunities before presenting to clients; follow meetings with notes and action items distributed to client and internal teams
- Know your customer inside out and become the "customer champion" within the agency
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal teams to ensure effective communication and expectation management
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of SEO principles and paid media across: Paid Social (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), Paid Search, Google Shopping, and YouTube
- Previous experience with Customer Experience initiatives — website testing/CRO, UX/UI journey enhancements, or email strategy — in conjunction with performance marketing tactics is preferred
- Ensure processes are followed and any barriers are smoothly resolved
- Work with urgency, respecting your client's and the agency's timelines
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in account management within a marketing or advertising agency
- Proven track record of managing a book of business across performance marketing tactics
- Proven track record of managing enterprise or VP+ level client relationships
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to build client relationships, demonstrate agency value, and communicate effectively tailored to client audiences
- Proficiency in marketing analytics and reporting tools
